If I may add to the topic, on my mint looking prized Disco 2 I used Antique restorers grade wire wool and wax polish combined, to remove the specks of tar deposit on the alloys, treating areas not too often. Land rover is a living object and exudes character. This is what separates the marque from others, and brings people repeatedly back into the fold. One footnote, in the first instance, the patches of "corrosion" are from TOO much cleaning. This allows the tar blemishes to stick on better to the clean surfaces of the alloy wheels !!

I knew it. Ever since I washed my first car and the engine blew up the next day, I have been very careful about not cleaning my car too often
In the 25 years since none of my engines have blown up. Let this be a warning to everyone...
