Cost of replacing timing chain
My 54 plate will be 5 years old at end November. I undrerstand that means the timing chain has to be replaced, even though its only done 44K - does that include the tensioners?. Any idea how much £££- I use an independent LR specialist, not a dealer. Any other time related rather than wear related issues like that?

It'll be really expensive as you don't appear to have a TDV6 (timing belts) and a petrol V8 (timing chains) will be engine out for stripping
If you do have a TDV6 it'll be no more that 4 hours book time, timing belt and tensioners, fuel pump belt and serpentine belt. Your safe for a good while yet as it's 105k or 7 years whichever is sooner
I think someone quoted Yeovil Land Rover did their belts for £313

Yes it is a TDV6 didn't know whether belt or chain - I hope my guy will do it for less than £300, but if its 7 not 5 years doesn't need it yet

i asked about this at my landrover dealer and got quoted a reasonable 500 quid, which for a maindealer i thought was very good, this included all parts..
