Thanks! - the crank is apparently fine.
Are you allowed to PM me any links to where to source stuff? Or how about some of this web sites sponsors?

Well it's taken 3 months but thought I would update anyone who one day follows this thread for faults and costs.
I finally got my Land Rover back on Monday.
Total repair cost £5.5k! for Cambelt, Turbo and engine rebuild (although they did swap out battery, do all the pads, cambelt, two new wrangler tyres). apart from length of time it took as they outsourced the engine work to someone who races cars, the garage have been excellent.
In the end it needed the cylinders re-bored, and had all serviceable engine parts replaced and new cambelt.
I will try and find which part it was, but apparently there was a plastic section inside engine (a non serviceable part which had been bodged in the past) and caused a suspected oil leak since I had owned it. And probably the main issue with the car. The mechanic expected it happened when the engine was replaced by Land Rover with a brand new on 2 years ago.
Although since driving it today I've got another issue with Low Coolant level. Will post a new thread on that!
