I’ve ordered my Disco3 with manual shift after having tested both manual and automatic one.
The manual shift looks to me better, nicer to drive. What are your preferences?

I also took a manual transmission. I love to be able to switch gear whenever I want. Automatic is just pussing the two pedals...

Laughing catweasel you are so right! Congrats to all of you on your anticipated rovers!

Guytn - for me I fumble around to much to have manual hehe. Not sure if that's even offered here or not. It does have CommandShift for some manual control though...

Guytn, you CAN change gear manually in and Auto...it's the Command Shift mode. In fact leaving aside Lower Ratio and Terrain Response you have three gearboxes in one on an Auto.... 1] Std Auto Mode, 2] Sport Mode and 3] Command Shift. So There Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner Ner

@ ronp: true, my father has the same gear modes on his Range Rover, but everybody has his own opinion Wink. It's also not worth the extra €'s for me...

By the way, the automatic shift changes slightly Disco3 characteristics: the CO2 emission rises from 244 G/km (manual shift) to 270 CO2 G/km (automatic shift), the fuel usage rises by 1,5 l/100km and the acceleration goes down slightly.
