I might be talking crap here but could you not cut the two redundant sensors out of the loom and join wires up?

No that won't work, it either gives an error or goes of continually.

Measuring the resistance and substituing the sensor for a resister sounds like it might well work. Anyone good with electrics that might be able to help - not too hot on electronics, last thing I did was build an intruder alarm for GCSE technology, and it never did work very well.

Here in Australia those of us who have fitted the Mitchell Bros tow hitch have had to either blank off the two middle sensors or rotate them so that the US waves don't 'see' the protruding hitch.
I know a few of us have used the self-adhesive rubberish anti-scratch pads that you put on the bottom of chair or table legs.
Mine have been on for over a year and only the occassional false alarm (usually when reversing out of shade and into sunlight!?).

Peter

Andy, do you think that replacing it with a resistor would work?

Hi Stu and job well done Thumbs Up

Read your other post and totally agree: best to put everything on at once than add things gradually! Shocked (fitted LR driving lights and lamp guards separately and that was bad enough doing it that way around Embarassed )

Tip for others : check fog light wiring while you've got the bumper out for shorting, see here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic14653.h...fog+lights

On your sensor issue, I would see if I could fit them on the lower slat of the grille, as middle as possible, I think that would also keep them functional. IIRC, the middle ones have a relatively narrow "beam" so should not reflect on your A-bar sides...

Cheers

I've had a similar problem after I fitted a tire carrier

and solved it with something like this:

Those are normally attached to the bottom of chairs to protect the floor from getting scratched but work well on the parking sensors.

This way I am still able to use 2 1/2 of my rear PDC sensors Thumbs Up

Worth a try, plus I also have some of those foam discs as well. They are used for dvd holders as well.

Sounds like a plan, all I need is some of the discs, and something that is far more difficult to find - the motivation to take it all apart again!
