cruise control not working |
|
Ok, so I've done a search and found some info regarding possible causes, but what I need to know is; is it possible to test the switches to see if its the switches themselves (or the switch panel) or do I have to go to the dealer and get them to fix it? The VIN on the car falls into the range specified as having the rotary coupling fault but I've no idea if its ever been rectified. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take it to a dealer and tell them to fix it. It relates to the airbag as well so they should do it even outside warranty.
If it has been done the dealer will be able to find out. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It usually is a button on the switch pack sticks, logging a fault, and wont clear until the ignition has been cycled. Also the wiring behind the airbag fractures, causing the cc to not work at all
If you are out of warranty though, its a relatively cheap fix. About £40 for the switch pack, and £15 for the wiring loom My D3 Build Thread

Firstly it was intermittand and dealer said no fault was found then when it failed completly they found broken wire back of switch.
