I have a diagram (pulled from someone's gallery in the past) that shows the radio buttons diagram. This may help find / eliminate wires on the clock spring.
I know you've probably considered it but could the switches be at fault?

yeah the switches are fine ~ i can set the cruise on right hand sweeping turns LOL but on a long trip we have went the long way over an over pass to set it for the trip
so after replacing the clock spring twice i am ready to make a change
i think i can get the mounting looking ok on the side over there ~
can you pm the schematic or let me know the user ??
thanx

I can't find it in anyone's gallery after a quick search, so I've uploaded it into mine. Page 1 shows the clock spring and some of the connections.

Check the small harness that sits in the steering wheel behind the air bag. The wires can cut through, changed one resntly with 3 wires cut. Theres now a recall out to checked this harness my 05 goes in for it this coming Thursday..
