Cut through wires?
Good evening,
Thanks for reading.
Today I got under the car, and found two sets of wires that were cut through.
1. Three wires.Connecting to a spark plug like item going into the exhaust pipe. (See first two pictures.)
2. Then four wires. Very well protected.Socket hidden under metal bracket. Firmly bolted in place. (as per photos.)
Please allow me to borrow your knowledge...
1. What are they for?
2. Why would someone opt to cut them?
Thanks
Antony
Edit: I am unable to attach the photos to the text. But they are in my gallery. Please check? Thx.

Iggy thank you for help with the photos.
Meanwhile, I read on lambda sensors. (Now I partly understand why the check engine light is on.)
Sensor explains the first two photos.
1. What's the third one?
2. What does one expect to achieve by cutting through them?
Thanks again.
Antony.
