So warming to see the Veterans there again, remebering friends and sharing memories with even former enemies.
But.........................................................
How the has our NON elected Prime Minister got the Balls to stand there and share space with these brave men that protected our country, a country that day by day, him and his clown party are ripping apart.

He is there, because like it or not, he is the political figurehead of our nation. It would have been more disrespectful of him not to have been there.

Coz it's his job, nothing more, nothing less. Did it not show ? He's more bothered about who will be squatting in number 10 by the time he gets back. Serving royals would have been more like it. After all is that not part of their honour duty to the nation, rather than falling out of nightclubs and dressing as SS soldiers or pee-heeing in NYC playing polo.....more spongers...they are worse than that westminster lot.
It's always the wrong people who attend these. It should be someone who means something and not someone in a position.

I could tell you a few things about Waffen SS and NKWD troops m8 believe me it was us who got the most ass kicking from them didn't we
but as I said awesome event
I loved those blokes in British uniforms of the time trying to remind everyone of the fact that it were Brits on Gold Juno and Sword beaches along with Canadians unlike in Saving Private Ryan Americans only lol (there was only one beach and one force for Yanks lol)
cheers

White was the SAS in the early days I believe, however they changed colour, as it was a fairly bad choice "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

We all watched it here - heart warming
I think heckling that tool was disrespectful to the occasion and the real men that were there

SAS initially had maroon berets and later went over to the biscuit colour. White berets were probably the merchant navy veterans who ran the convoys to Russia during the war. God bless them all .

Forget about the politicians - total respect and admiration for all those brave laddies involved 65 years ago. The more I learn about the detail the more amazing it all is, they even sent guys over beforehand to collect core samples of the beaches to ensure the tanks and guns would be supported - just mind blowing. Just watched another programme about the amount of maps and info provided by the French resistance, very brave people with a common goal
