I've not heard of LOF clutches, but that doesn't mean anything!
I put a LUK clutch and DMF in mine last year.

Not too difficult, just fiddly and heavy!

LOF would be an upgrade over the standard LUK so it's worth considering if you intend to keep her. Don't skimp, replace everything including the flywheel and release bearing.

If the car has high mileage you might consider replacing the crank sensor while you're in there. Also the fluid damper hose and slave cyl hose are worth considering replacement once the box is out. You do not want to be doing this job again!!

The time for this depends on what equipment you have, but with a lift it's doable well within a day. On the floor with jacks etc will obviously take longer,
Care must be taken regarding attached looms and breather pipework, particularly the XYZ sensor which is accessed from the top left side of the box. It's a bit fiddly and awkward to access but patience will see you prevail.

If you don't have a lift you can opt to split the transfer case away first making it easier to remove the gearbox separately. It will be difficult to bleed out the air so have a pneumatic bleeder to hand as well as an assistant in the car. Even with this be prepared for difficulty is expelling the air!

This is a very heavy component and so it goes without saying care and safety a paramount.

Re: d3 clutch

Consider borrowing or buying an induction heater to remove the nut from the stud for the turbo support bracket, and possibly those connecting the downpipe. A blow torch did not do the job, and I got into a world of pain cutting things off.
