Here's the conclusion . . . . . .
It got fixed - not allowed to say how, sworn to secrecy!
But warranty is intact and it cost under £300 including a massive tip to the mechanic!
Morals of story -
1. Don't misfuel in the first place! Easier said than done when you're tired and stressed and it's late at night!
To avoid future mishap I'm going to investigate one of these gadgets that prevents you putting petrol in the D3!
2. DON'T try AA Fuel Assist. They've got an agreement with LR NOT to drain and flush Land Rovers because AA have the recovery contract with LR.
3. DON'T reach for the mobile and call LR breakdown service - this logs the fact with LR that you've committed 'driver error' by misfueling. They can then do what they like with your warrenty - and charge huge amounts of money in the process. And I mean HUGE!
4. Keep this number handy on your mobile - "Dr Fuel" (Misfuel Specialists) - (0)8009177033.
PHONE THEM FIRST. They operate nationwide 24hr service to get idiots like me out of the claggy! They charge about £250 to drain and flush.
(I didn't need to use them, by the way, but was very glad that they were available if needed!)
5. Your insurance almost certainly WON'T cover you - the exclusion clause is up there in lights!
6. Keep in touch with disco3.co.uk whilst waiting for something to happen! Thank's everyone!
7. Write-off sleep for at least a couple of nights while you worry about all the noughts in the total for the bill!
8. Arrange at least one day off work to deal with all the aggro and trauma!
9. Search disco3.co.uk and other forums for helpful advice and friendly banter!
All's well that ends well!

And don't blame SWMBO as I'm sure some peeps do!!
Good that it was a relatively painless experience.
