Our D3 is "a little" overdue for its service for various unforeseen reasons (it's booked in next week). In the last few days, the alarm has gone off a few times for no reason, and now the driver's door (it's a LHD car) has decided that it won't unlock.
Could just be coincidence, but I get the impression it might be sulking. Has anyone else had this, or have you all been really good and got it serviced on time? If it is sulking, this could be a problem once cars start getting old and are not so carefully serviced.

Be careful, your warranty could be invalidated if you exceed a certain amount of miles/km's or time (sorry can't remember the exact figures) over the schedule.

Mine was only 250 miles over - dealer said no issues - would imagine above 1K might cause a Warranty problem? Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

The latch needs replacing. It's quite common. You can get it open by pressing unlock on the dash and pulling the interior handle. It's a lot easier our side of the pond 'cos it's on the passenger door Disco 5 HSE Lux

I'd read the posts on the problem, so no problem there thanks, it's just funny that it's started now, having had no problems at all so far. We had a very bizarre alarm on the first D3, which eventually went back. I think TFC said that there was a TSB about some European models having a software conflict somewhere.

I let mine go for 30 days over its scheduled (timed) service once. As I drove it to the service centre it lost all power as I "planted" it to get into the peak hour traffic stream. Had never done it before, nor since.

Just imagine what problems we're going to get when these cars start aging and developing opinions about everything.... that little screen will stop saying things like 'Park brake fault' and instead we'll get:
Well I don't believe it! or

On two separate occassions when my D3 was at about 500 miles over the Service schedule point my D3 has done a 'power dip'. It suddenly went into 'get you home mode' - I stopped with engine off - I started engine and it was fine.
Has only ever happened at the 500 mile (from memory) point after the Service point 45K and 60K.

Mine went just under 2000 miles over ....no problems at all ....although it did have its last service 4 months agoG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
Hmm, I'm sure it was sulking. It went in on Friday to have the brake pads changed (and ended up having front discs as well, despite the fact that the warning had only been on for about three days ) Since then, no alarm going off and the door lock is working properly!
Service is later this week, so we'll see what they say about it then.
I presume they had to clear some codes when they replaced the pads and sensors, so maybe the other problems "went away" at the same time.

It takes so long to get a booking at my dealer for a service so I book it in 3 weeks early to get it in on time The other trick is to have a warrenty problem and you get in quicker, and oh can you fit in a service wile you have it there eneyway she is very obliging and seems to come up with a problem in time to help

Mine is about 1000 miles over the 30k service. It gets taken away this Friday and returned with some fresh oil, wheelnuts checked and my washer bottle filled (including screen wash sachet ) and all at the bargain price of £430.
No issues, problems or niggles, apart from really needing to get it in the mud again
