The TDV6 was sourced from the Jaguar S-type which is a twin turbo. LR took one turbo off.

...not fast and sporty or the big poke!

I did a 100mile testdrive on the RR TDV8, 50 miles on the GL420 CDI, around 1200 miles on the GL 320 CDI, 50 miles on a chiptuned RRS TDV6 and about 100 miles on a regular D3 TDV6.

After 15 years G-Wagon with the G400 CDI at least, the Disco3 seems to be the best vehicle for what we are looking for. Only the engine is the most boring one.

Driving near the D3s speed limit means less mpg than all other and less tranquility.

The new RRS prices are on the Official site.

RRS TDV6 HSE £47k and TDV8 HSE £53k

My guess it is all about marketing, the D3 was a threat to FFRR sales but now they have a new marketing tool.

If it fits in a RRS it will fit a D3. Just dreaming of a base 7 V8 8)
 D3 gone for now

Why on earth would anyone want to rebadge their Discovery as an "LR3" ?

I have a so-called LR3 and would prefer to rebadge it as a "Discovery 3"... This probably has something to do with a long happy attachment to a Disco S1 that ended abruptly.
