D3 TDv6 v R Class 320d

This week's Autocar has a back to back test of the D3 and R class.
The D3 does most things well in comparison to the R Class except power/economy and weight....................... but the verdict from Autocar is
"The Disco is too special not to win" mainly because of it versatility and ride quality.

Look forward to reading that. What was the price difference between the models tested?

Whats the point of the R class?

Can't really get my head around the concept of the R-class? Why a long estate 6 seater 4x4 that cannot off road??? and not put extra seats in the M-calss???

Blah!

Disco that A/C tested was £43495, Merc R Class was £42970

There is also a nice header over the techy details of both cars which sums up the R Class nicely............. "Arctic Explorer versus puddle jumper"
