D4 3.0 choice of front brake discs

Hello,
Changed my front discs 40.000 km ago and now have the shake in the steering wheel back when braking gently at speeds above 60 km/h. Front lower arms are Meyele HD so I donĀ“t believe it is due to bad bushes. The discs I fitted the last time where Borg&Beck. Not OEM but generally good quality and has worked fine for other cars. Time to change them again and I just want to ask the forum if there are some agreement on which brand of brake discs to choose if you want to avoid warping in a D4 3.0?

I asked the same question in the D3/D4 owners Group in FB and got suggested CRW, Delphi or Textar which alla are supposedly OEM.

Before ordering Textar from AF I would like to get the experiance of this forum. Bow down

Have used the grooved and drilled discs with supplied pads from Britpart via a supplier for my 2006 2.7TDV6.

Put in at 124'000 miles and been superb for all reasons and seasons. Car on 152'000 miles now and workshop said about 6'000 left on pads. Discs all good.

Possible thought on your steering judder. I have had a persistent judder that came and went when various repairs were made. It was so infrequent that I forgot it did this. After a transmission flush last year it even stopped so I thought that was that.

Last week under braking from 60mph it was like a bucking bronco, my wife thought I was having an epilectic fit at the wheel!

Has been diagnosed as a failed near side driveshaft. totally wrecked. Probably been failing since I got the D3 in 2016 just never bad enough to mention or get noticed at MOT time.

the OEM D4 front discs are Brembo on my MY16.

I had loads of issues with brake shake on my old D4 with non OEM discs.

Thanks for your response! TRW-discs and pads are now ordered so hopefully this will end my shaking problem.

Thanks,
Peter
