D4 Black Grill
Hi all,
I had to make the decision after 5 years and 90k to chuck in the D3 for a D4 even if it hurt like hell!!! I still think the D4 is a little 'bling' for my basic D3 liking and want to know if I can get a black front grill for it to tone it down a little???

Salut Ismier,
You can either paint you grill black, or even buy a second one to paint and save the original.
Alternatively, you may use Platidip to paint it and get rid of the black once you are over it.

Surely you can buy the black D4 Landmark model grill from The Large One. If I ever get a D4, I'd also want a black grill.

I prefer to call mine a Black Edition
I fitted Genuine LR "Limited Edition" Landmark ones
Its difficult to get the grilles though !! Land Rover will only sell to Landmark owners and will ask you for a Reg number or chassis number.
Or you could get yours painted, the front one comes out easy but the side ones take an masive amount of brute force to pull it out.

I tried my Local Dealer and they said the main grille (not the side vents) is a blocked part i'll check out what the problem is.
Came back to me and said the part is only availble to customers with a Landmark so we will need your chassis number - eeeerr right.
So using a bit of common sense i scoured the dealers for a Landmark that was for sale did a HPI check obtained the chassis number and used it to get myself a Landmark grille through an indie.

Been runing mine for a month after the breather mod kit and soon it was chuffing smoke again, but last week with all the hot weather i noticed a change in the engine note on start up and amazingly there is no smoke and no misfire.
Heading down to Poole tomorrow so will give her a good spanking down the m/way,4 bikes roof box and fully loaded.
Might even divert through Moreton Ford to the Mrs up.

When my D4 was being rebuilt after it's recent unfortunate accident, parts were ordered from a franchised dealer using it's chassis number........ so if a vehicle which has modified parts fitted needs a rebuild in the future you may find it returning with whatever it's original specification was.......2016 Discovery 4 Commercial
