D4 Cambelt change + What else? |
|
So next year the Cambelt is due on my 2012 D4 due to age, not mileage (currently 91K miles) I’m thinking of getting it done early as cars have a tough time here and reliability is key when traveling remote.
I’ve done a bit of searching on the forum and understand that the rear belt is also timed. But what I couldn’t find was a definitive list of all the other parts I should get swapped while the car is in bits
.
So far I’m thinking Aux belt inc tensioner, idler pulley, water pump and the water outlet connection (LR073372) that I’ve read can fail with not much notice.
What are people thoughts on changing the oil pump to?

No question, if you want to sleep well at night, & preserve the life of your engine change the oil pump.
