D4 - Cruise Control Over Ride
Here's a thing to ponder:
I was in cruise control (70 mph) mode on the motorway and braked to exit. I didn't switch off the CC as this appears in the past to have happened automatically when I braked. The signal came up on the dash read out "Cruise Control Override". So far so good. As I approached the end of the ramp at around 40 mph, I took my foot off the brake to proceed into the junction. The Cruise Control (or so I believe) immediately activated and the car surged forward, presumably trying to get back to 70 mph. No visual indication that the CC had re-activated. My foot was off the brake but not on the accelerator pedal. I'll be on the watch for it now, but it was a scary moment and luckily there was no conflicting traffic.
Any helpful comments?

Like you, thought touched brakes switches CC off and you have to re-engage it. Daft question but what does the manual say??

Just about to read it.
"Cruise Control is suspended when brake pedal is pressed ............... etc. To resume at the previous set speed press button 3."
That implies a physical action to switch it back on again. I guess that I have a fault.

If you brake it should say "Cruise Cancelled" not "Overriden"
You get the Overridden when you accelerate over the set speed.
That said, I too have had some weird results:
1. Cruise Set Speed message not being displayed although green symbol comes on
2. Decrease button doesn't actually reduce the set speed, it only suspends the power and then sets to whatever the vehicle speed is when you release the button - so if you go down hill whilst doing this at say 70 you can actually find when you release the button you've increased the set speed
I'm hoping the D4 update rollout which Wiggs mentioned on another thread will correct these, but sofar I've not been contacted to say I should bring my vehicle in for the updates, think I'll contact the dealers myself next week.

Yes. Mr H - hopefully these updates will iron out some of the apparent 'idiosyncrasies'. Mine's booked in for 1 Apr., I hope that that's not an omen.
