D4 Dab radio controls from steering column

I'm looking at buying an older 2010 Discovery 4 and wondered about the Dab radio.

When I had a look at one, it didn't seem to be possible to change stations from steering wheel 5 way controller. I'm wondering if this is normal or of its because the Dab stations may not have been set up correctly

The system seemed to work reasonably well but feels a bit slow because of its age and I guess needs a larger amount of touch screen input than would be expected today.

Also wondering if there's a more modern upgrade to this unit of some kind.

On my previous MY2011 D4, with the left-hand joystick arrows, left and right changed between the memorized stations and, obviously, up and down, respectively, raised and lowered the volume.

Same features on my current D4 XXV ....

As well as for the analogue receiver......

Also don’t forget, with the screen set to satnav you don’t need to go back to the audio screen to pick one of your favourite DAB stations, you can use the right hand radio knob - turn left or right and a small selector screen will appear on the sat nav

Thanks for the input everyone, I like the idea of voice, sort of expected it might not be that useful but it sounds worth a try.
