You have my sympathies. It's certainly happening more and more, like a ticking time bomb within those VIN ranges.
It hastened me chopping in the car. I never thought it was as smooth after it had the work done and didn't trust it. Never mind the cost of the repair, which LR should be paying anyway, I think they leave themselves open to compensation claims.

So it affected the D3 too? Thought this was unique to MY10-12 D4 3.0? 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

What issues? Were they crankshaft related? Seriously, would you want to keep a car that's had its gearbox pulled about?
Maybe it's a cunning ploy by LR to get peps to buy a new car!

i dont think overly cranksensor issues but like yourself the car just doesnt seem the same since, MPG is certainly worse and we have had some strange handbrake issues since also. We just happened to be going near to another dealer (not beadles who did the work) and wondered about the few Pre reg cars they had and deal done for very little outlay. no brainer really, free servicing and cheaper tax to start with.

Yep reassuring that someone else had problems, although I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Like you, the outlay wasn't out of proportion. I got 75% of the cost of the new car with the trade in and discount.
Since I finalised the figures at the end of January, the trade in price has dropped £3k, if it keeps dropping like that, I would have got £10k less waiting until the end of the year for a D5.
