Theft of D2 facelift headlights is well known and there are now ways of making them more secure.
One of the guys on the D2 Boys Club forum was asking if there are any security devices for D4 headlights and grill and as someone he knew had theirs pinched. Thought I'd ask the experts!!

On my D3 I added 2 self tappers to the top of the grill so that it couldnt be removed (as it only clipped in), but to be honest you'd need the bonnet up in order to raise the clips holding the headlights in.

I wouldn’t be too sure of that. A mechanic friend said he knew of people stealing headlights and grills using a coat hanger and pulling the bonnet release at the front of the car. And I’m sure he said it doesn’t set the alarm off.
I think a little plate in front of the latches should stop them doing that.
