D4 sat nav problem!

So have been happily using my sat nav (in a 2011 xs) since I purchased the car in January. Then today.... Entered the nav screen and now it shows me quite a way away from where I actually am! Still tracks movement etc but just shows me driving across fields rather than on the roads I'm supposed to be on. When I zoom out, the map location where I actually am is around a mile away!

I tried to do a re-calibration and changed position - this worked fine until I switched the car off and let it all shut down etc. just been out again and same issue - sat nav a long way out!

Any ideas?!

Cheers

It sounds like your gps signal is not working, as this shows your position, have you not got the gps icon showing with a line through it.

Flack Thumbs Up

Doesn't the secret menu show the raw GPS feed, you could see what info its getting and compare it with another unit.

So another long trip yesterday...

Got in and fired up the sat nav - showed me approx 0.5k away from my actual location. I then re calibrated the position and direction and off we went. Tracking fine at first but i noticed after a while that the location was becoming less accurate.
After approx 30mins the actual road i was travelling on was not even on the map anymore and it showed us as driving through some fields to the right.

Gave up with it and used the trusty iphone.

This morning i thought id have anohther look - opened up the nav screen - now it thinks im in a different county!!

GPS is showing signal with the line through the icon etc. Compass direction wayyy off.

What is my next step in the diagnosis?? I hope its not a trip to the main stealer Crying or Very sad

Hi Chris,

did you manage to resolve this issue?
I have a similar problem, the coordinates are putting me somewhere in eastern russia.

The Altimeter is not working and the compass is 180 degrees out.

Any advice would be most welcome.
