Hi guys thanks for the help with the mobile phone linking a few weeks ago, all sorted now.
Have a new problem on MY10 D4 the side steps are quite rusty and the aluminium strip has fell off, somewhere on the road.
I have only had the car a month, Guy at the dealer said the side steps are an accessory and therefore not covered by any warranty. He admitted this is a common fault with the side steps and you cannot get a replacement aluminium strip. I thought this is poor especially if common thing for them to fall off.
What do you experts say.

If it can be proved that a genuine accesory was fitted from new (or within 1 mth) by a dealer; then it is covered under the warranty - if not then no.
Have seen the trims fall off; although suprises me on a 10 plate car. Some people swap steps from previous cars or buy 2nd hand, so they could be older than the car.
