My experience is that from a standing start (i.e. traffic lights) there is no lag. It is only if it is still rolling a little or has only just stopped and you reapply the power that it is likely to happen. i.e. it has just moved down the gears.

My explanation of how it feels is that you put the pedal down and you do get a very slight pick up of power so you do move forward but then its like a whack from behind as it suddenly launches. I wouldnt say 2 seconds. I would say no more than a second but perhaps it feels longer because you start to worry you are going to be a sitting duck for all those cars coming towards you. Also, I suspect the launch is made worse when it does come as your instinct is to put the pedal down more as you are not getting the power.

You could be right DD. I'll try it when I get home as I'm currently soaked sat in hospital for the millionth time this year Sad

I think the crawling forward could just be the normal creeping autos do when the brake is released..

I wonder if it's related to the engine rev control activated by the brake light circuit??

Ie if you apply the brakes engine power is cut for a bit as lr think you shouldn't accelerate and brake at the same time!!!

Yes, that was the explanation given by the dealer and hence why the new brake switch was fitted by LR along with 'they say' some new software ?

It did make the car feel better for a few days, but as others have already previously commented, didn't last long and was soon back to the same problem !

Well tried it on the run back to work after a quick trip home to pick it up.

Anything below about 10/15mph in D and it takes a while to pick up.
If its in 1st(commandshift) it goes straight away...

It really feels like there is no guts below about 2k rpm though i know there is when cruising in 7th at 40 and 6th at 30 it still has some grunt to get it up inclines and keep speed.

its literally like the lower turbo is being bypassed to avoid too much strain on the drivetrain...

As its a rental i dont think i can really book it into LR without waiting a few weeks anyway and i doubt LRA can pop out to update it and check it over for a 'slow pickup' fault...
