Russell, I realise that the body is now aluminium, but any idea how much steel there is under there ? I'm thinking long term, as I always get new cars treated with Waxoyl or Dinatrol but just wondering if there would really be any need for that now.

I'm assuming as it doesn't have a separate chassis same as D3/4 and is an aluminium monocoque (I think) you would assume additional rust treatment will be unnecessary?

I think I read somewhere that the D5 had steel sub frames, whereas the Range Rover version has aluminium alloy sub frames. If this is the case, then maybe some rust prevention around the sub frame?

Yes, I think it's to do with strength/space for the Extra seats.

Yes spot on, they cannot get the alloy sub frames in the D5 as they would be too big and would not allow for the size of seats in the back
