Very Dangerous Discovery TDV6?
My son following what turns out to be a brand new Disco (not sure of the model)only 6 miles on the clock on the Ealing road last Tuesday narrowly missed running into the back of it, the driver had indicated to overtake a slower vehicle, he pulled out, and whilst overtaking the BRAKES LOCKED ON SOLID, so now he is on the wrong side of the road, and there is a lorry bearing down on him also fully locked up in a skid, luckily he stopped before hitting the Disco. My son helped the Disco driver out of the vehicle, he is absolutly petrified of it.
My son calls the garage H A Fox, a mechanic comes and can do nothing with it, they unbolt the computer from the bench in the garage, and take it to the scene plug it in,and every fault in the codes come up.The Police insist it's removed asap (the road is blocked) Fire Brigade try and move it they succed, but a lot of broken glass, and dents. It's only speculation but it may be a fault with the anti-thieft device.Would have reported earlier but only spoke to my son today. This is so DANGEROUS we now know of this problem, lets see what Land Rover are going to do about it.The older i get the better i was.
That sounds a bit wierd, why didn't they disconnect the brake lines??
More to the point, if they were able to read the fault codes, why couldn't they reset the system??
If it only had six miles on the clock it had to be 6 miles from the dealer. Is HA Fox a dealer?? If so, why couldn't they reset the car? If not, why not call the dealer or LR Assist?? I know I would if that happened with only six miles on my new car!
Sounds like a load of cr*p to me!Have a nice day!

Well unless you're son knows the driver or he/she is a member on here, we'll never know the true cause or resolution will we
Must admit, it was good of your son to hang around to find out the whole story
There is NO interaction between the anti-theft system and the brakes BTW
Did the driver happen to get his LR binoculars as a freebie ?

I reckon one of the nice buttons in the middle like HDC was pressed....I could not keep my fingers off those pretty things at first either.....
Eurm of you in higher speed or 3th gear up, HDC will not engage. And even if it would engage, it will never hit the brakes that hardIn a time of chimpanzees, I was a penguin.
