--:-- on dash.
My used D3 came with an aftermarket head unit and no original head unit. Obviously has the --:-- clock display on the dash. Is there a way to remove this without having to buy a used original radio to stick under a seat? I'd prefer removing the --:-- honestly...
I have an IID BT tool but have been unable to find some option to do this.2006 D3 TDV6 SE

Clock on dash wouldn’t be standard on a 2006 model, I’m guessing someone updated the software to post 2007. Can it be flashed back to original 2006 software?

True, forgot about that as I had mine on there for ages. Sounds like the correct instrument pack needs loaded up. Aren't the BAS remap removable? Take it off, change the inst pack, loose the --/-- then really the remap. Sorted.
But best check with BAS or GAP. though.

Wouldn’t the remap be different to the clock on dash update? Mine had a remap before I got it and I added the clock on dash years later.

True, but was just thinking "if in doubt, whip it out", as the surgeon would say.

The clock time is takes from the radio.
Non std radio = no clock on dash.
If yours is definitely and 06 then you can have the software downgraded so that it no longer shows the clock.

Managed to clear the clock from the display by flashing Instrument Pack-->IPC for Pre MY07. This wasn't available because I was using a custom firmware on the IID Tool due to the power remap.
Brilliant help from Patrick @ GAP. 2006 D3 TDV6 SE

Now to give this another twist:
Is there a way of injecting the clock into the canbus? I had the same issue with my small c2 before. There's gotta be someone who solved this before! Putting the old headunit in only for the clock on dash just isn't the most sensible thing to do.

I searched high and low for this and apparently there is no solution. Only solution I found was stripping the head unit to it's bare minimum (while still being able to set the clock) and sticking it under a seat (connected to the canbus). I might have done this, but since I bought used and it came without the head unit, I'm not going to buy one just for this.2006 D3 TDV6 SE

If you want to put a stripped down unit in there are plenty with various cd problems that are on sale for small money. Depends on how much you want the clock on dash

Clock on dash displaying --:--
Hi all,
I had the clock on dash enabled by Bodsy some years back, it has been fine but recently it has changed to --:--, any ideas how to get it back?
