In dash Pollen Filter replacement - which model?
There seems to be three different part numbers listed for the Pollen Production Air Intake Filter fitted in the dash for the HVAC system:
JKR500020
JKR500010 - listed as odour and particles - which seems to supersede to LR023977
LR023977 - listed as odour and particles
Are all three interchangeable and compatible between the various vehicles or does the correct one need to be purchased for the vehicle?
The difference for the two odour and particles variants seems to be that they have some sort of a black coating on the air filter elements which Goole seems to indicate is an Activated Carbon.
Normally I avoid the cheap third party brands, but with this item is there any reason not to go with the cut price Britpart/AllMakes4x4/Bearmach offerings? Unlike the air filter protecting the engine, it seems like a luxury type additional feature of which the filter is replaced every 24,000km/12 months.Mine - modified MY03 LT L318 Discovery 2a HSE Td5 15P

Cheapie will be just fine.
Charcoal one is meant to eliminate smells etc from entering the cabin.

All 3 are interchangeable
For engine filters, I use OEM. For a non critical filter, such as the cabin filter, I use Britpart My D3 Build Thread

Cheers. The cheapies are pretty much the same price so I might as well stick with the odour one then I suppose. Had a look at the current one fitted is black so it's what we've been running without issue so far.
I've used Mahle air and oil filters on it so far. Hope that's ok.Mine - modified MY03 LT L318 Discovery 2a HSE Td5 15P

Mahle is fine.
Mann is fine too.
I’ve tried both and some “cheap” white ones.
Currently I have a Mahle CareMetix cabin filter with active charcoal and some kind of anti-bacterial/fungal thing. Normally I’ve used Mann FreciousPlus filters (FP2747 is the mann part) that have something similar on them.
No issues with smells or fungus but I must note that the absence of evidence is not evidence itself.
