Hmmm . . . . thanks. So it actually sits behind the RVM and doesn't eat up any more of the screen so to speak? Looks good. How did you wire it? Into one of the lighter sockets under the heater unit or hardwired in to the fusebox somehow?

Next Base Duo HD. Fits nicely behind the RVM.

Yeah I hard wired mine into the fuse box, really easy and doesn’t take long at all. I used the NextBase hardwire kit, ran it under the head liner, down the pillar on passenger side (remove plastic cover which say air bag and a screw is behind it, you can then pull the pillar cover) and into the fuse box. Can’t remember which fuse I used but was for something non critical like accessories socket.
The only thing you will need to mount where I have is something to create a smooth surface. The standard LR and Pilkington Optikool windscreen has a dimpled finish around the rear view mirror. I have some perfect sized flat adhesive backed circles from work, so worked perfect. I have a few spare if anybody wants one or can dig up where we bought them from, likely RS.RLD CB Bracket

Can it see behind, between the pop-up headrests on the third row seats?

I bought a nextbase 380GW, mounted just behind the mirror. I purchased it as it doesn't have a screen to distract me while driving and quite stealthy, no issues with the heated screen...

That 380 model looks like a good option, especially as I turn off the screen. The 412gw also looks like it comes with adhesive option for mounting, so you could use that to stick to the area behind the RVM.RLD CB Bracket

I got rid of the standard sucker mount and got this ‘stealth’ mount off eBay. It’s a printed part.
This version retains the ‘hot shoe’ power mount of there is an even stealthier version that loses the hot-shoe.

Yes, the rear video is surprisingly good. Because the rear view camera is offset, it looks between the rear headrests.
I'll post a still shot from the rear next week. (my saved video is all on my work PC)Richard

Still from a rear video. It's good enough to make out the number plates of following cars.
