Mrs DSL doesn't kerb wheels, mainly cause she sits so far out. She takes out driver's mirrors instead!!!

Any pics Kev of said pitting?
Our D3 is same age and color, and model as yours and has covered about 3000 miles less. I've noticed that the laquer color has changed on the front (gone slightly yellow ish in places) but the rears seem ok.
Inside on alloys are covered in brake dust etc, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious pitting visible on outsides.

My D3 is only 6 months old, bought it from new and got the same issue as above. Front wheels are going yellow and black pitting from the disks and pads. Took me all day on tuesday to clean them, with LR supplied stuff, cleaned my eye too when it spalshed in it and hurt like hell. But ultimately it all came off and they look as good as new.
Having just won a case in court which took 4 years (!) I'm all for taking on the big guy (I won against a city council). As for the Hassel, never let hassel stop you, as for the chance of winning or loosing, like everyone else says....winning a 50:50 split of something financially little like this will cost you in the end. I won, and the costs the other side had too pay for my team were in excess £40k. Ok I admit my case was probably bigger, and took 4 years but at £150 ph it builds up!Once a Disco, always a Disco...and I love my Disco

Might be worth finding out a bit more about what this stuff was, if a £20 fix will save you your day in court (at which you could well be asked if you had used the LR approved/supplied stuff) it would seem like a necessary step to take I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

LR supplied stuff was the Supa-guard alloy wheel cleaner and protector. Good strong stuff, did the job and makes it easy to clean after each trip. Don't know how much a bottle costs haven't had to replace the first one yet, and this bottle came with the truck.
Might be worth it first.Once a Disco, always a Disco...and I love my Disco

But I would add - My car was new in September last year, I've cleaned the wheels twice (when swapping from 19's to off-roads etc) Don't worry too much, get them covered in mud - nobody will know they are not up to detailing / pi,p my ride standards "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Yes, have to say that my wheels are pitted too. Not the best alloys i've ever had but just got used to the idea that LRs probably aren't designed to have showroom condition wheels.
