does this fall in with the above height requirement quoted above (or is it just minimum height and anything above is OK)

The V8 idea should be fine with regards to distance etc
My only concern is they are meant to be a added safety feature ie they need to be bright enough to fullfil this requirement
So my question are they? Stadt Panzer Power

Need heating up in an oven ( or in front of heat lamp ) to loosen the glue ..then the front can be removed .
Do what you need to do then re heat and stick the front back on again .
Been thinking of putting some halo rings in mine G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Ian62, good job and very brave.
I just picked up a set of the same Hella LEDayLine LEDs on eBay for $70 shipped. I'm sweating now just at the thought of that first cut into the bumper.
I leased a 2007 model for two years and couldn't really do anything with it because of the lease contract. I've just handed it back though and bought a 2008 model for a song, so I'm good to go for modifying my new pride and joy. This is the first of many (I hope) and all have been inspired by you and the rest of the incredible talent on this message board. Cheers lads (and lasses). Simoniz,
It was a one-off auction: eBay item Looks like he may have bought them to try out on his car and decided they didn't fit or didn't look right. I think he has a Porsche Boxster.
I'll try to do a set of install pictures when I can work up the courage to chop up my bumper
Not sure when I'll have time to get round to it, but Ian62, prepare for some PMs with some worried-sounding questions '08 LR3 V8 SE in Stornoway Gray, Alpaca interior. BrewMonkey no problems you can PM anytime More than happy to help.
To be honest it wasn't cutting the bumper that worried me 8) it was when I had to use the flex on my D3 that got me going.
What ever happens I'll help all I can.
Just in case anyone else is thinking of having a go I'll be back in the UK at the end of March, with a free weekend to kill, normally head up towards Leeds from Winchester but more than happy to help anyone along the way Stadt Panzer Power

Don't think they are. The ones we got have 5 LEDs in the housing and these look to have 3.
Mine should arrive on Thursday (eBay seller was great - very prompt). If it's not too cold and the weather's not bobbins this weekend I might have a go... Aye, getting the angle grinder out will be nerve-wracking and crosses the line into 'serious' . At least if I it up cosmetically on the steel, nobody will see that bit. I'd rather have a wonky cut on the bumper than one on the visible hole for the lights.
To be honest, if you hadn't done this and posted pics, there's no way I'd be even contemplating this. Thanks (I think...) '08 LR3 V8 SE in Stornoway Gray, Alpaca interior.
