Dead animal smell

And this time it is dead animal.

Last week one of our freezers died and I took it to the tip in the D3 - all the meat that came out of it (including half a lamb) was double packed in black bags and also went to the tip in the D3 at the same time.

Sadly, as I was extracting chest freezer out of the back of the car, it ripped one of the black bags and some 'juices' ran out, off the end of my pond liner boot protection and settled into the bottom 4 inches of the back of one the folded down 3rd row seats.

After application of lots of hot water scrubbing and febreze spraying I thought I'd got it all out. But....

Everytime I jump in the car now, I have a ... smell. And its coming from the spot where the leak was.

I have searched and can't see a definitive 100% solution to solving this - what is the 100% dead cert way to get rid of the smell permanently - and throwing away the 3rd row seats does not count as a solution Evil or Very Mad

I had a similar whoopsy in ours, I am fortunate enough to have a wet type carpet cleaner which I used followed by "Autoglym" Odour Eliminator. Worked for me Thumbs Up

If the bicarb doesn't work, I'd try one of the sprays that vets sell for getting rid of animal odours and stains. They use enzymes to break down the stuff in the stain - the one we've used is about £14 for a bottle but it does work (have two cats so need it from time to time).

Don't they normally get called in by the police? Wouldn't they think it a bit odd if you phoned them and said please can you clean up the back of a car? Could end up being a terrible misunderstanding!
