Dealer Service Quality

Just had a service done locally & quite pleased - loan car (I had to insure it) & a valet of the vehicle were included as standard. What has other members experience been with their servicing?

Expensive, but good. The car has had two services now, and no complaints on the service quality, just the costs.

If you search my threads you will read the full story, but my first service cost 380, including £85 for oil. I subsequently found out that unless you ask, they will put expensive branded synthetic oil in. If you do ask they will use the LR oil at a saving of about £50.

My argument is that the car is warranted for 3 years, its on a 3 year lease at the end of which I might hand it back and buy a new one, so why should I not use the oil that Land Rover sell over the counter as "recommended for Discovery 3" and save a small fortune in the process?

If it blows up, they can fix it.

Cant compalin abot Marshalls Peterborough. After they replaced car 1, i am sending bcak car 2 under warranty for attention to;

n/s mirror that soetimes fails to reset to chosen position at start up
steering column knock to be investigated
dimming sat nav screen with a ,mind of its own day and night
vibrating speakers
re prog of HVAC ECU
investigation of restricted sub woofer adjustment

i thank the D3 community for helping me identify these niggles and look forward to the refreshed D3 (oh yes, nearly forgot, cracked windscreen gets replaced on Friday, eventually)

Marshalls offered their only D3 replacement for the duration and suggested a 2 day booking for full attention and resolution of issues.

Think you may find the replacement is my old one I returned the other day finally. Watch out for the window with a mind of its own and other problems.

Interestingly, D3 number 1 is STILL THERE (september) as the technicians are taking it in turns to run the car in an attempt to replicate the immobiliser issues which caused it to be rejected in the first place and they are all suffering the pain of a non starting D3 outside the house in the morning Laughing

D3 number 2 is a painless experience by comparison so i am keeping it Very Happy

Not sure at the moment Pelyma. Two rejected is enough for a while.
