Delayed reverse take up.

Getting the feel of the new D4 I've noticed that when I select reverse and depress the accelerator that there's a delay in response i.e. vehicle starting to move.
The epb is off btw.
Couple of times I've thought I've left it in 'P' or 'N'
Just seems not to have the instant pick up in comparison to my D3.

Anyone else experience this ?

It's happened a few times to me too, the D4's booked in at my dealers on Tuesday for a new rear door card and a new rear light unit (both were marked when I collected it) so I was going to ask them about this as well.

Yes sometimes a slight delay more so on an incline, same as devonchilliman.

Mine does it too, but I have only noticed it when pulling away at the boat ramp, after putting it in park. I just guessed that the car sensed it was hanging off the auto gearbox and automatically put the EPB on, though there are no lights to confirm this. The feeling when I put it in Drive and press on the accelerator is much the same as if I drive off with the EPB on Rolling Eyes

Gradient release control - if only noticed on an incline - holds brake pressure to prevent roll downhill.

Mark.

I get this every so often too. When reversing up a slight incline. Takes a sec to apply the power. In my case it's often while manoeuvring rapidly and I did wondered if it kept the power off until it was sure everything had stopped rotating forwards. Makes a bit of a slightly disconcerting noise too.

Doesn't GRC only apply when HDC is on?

I was going to say that as I have that even on the Skoda and still feels like a delay on a manual gearbox Shocked but it works a treat when on inclines (no heel/toe driving) Very Happy
Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!
