| Denso Alternator shortage - Issue resolved |
|
For anyone searching our website for Alternators, I am sorry to say we have run out.
With the problem that JLR are experiencing with supply recently we have sold over double or normal in Janauary, I ordered more about 10 days ago but Denso are out of stock in the UK until "Early Feb".
(Orders placed today prior to this post are OK)
I can get alternative recon units but no new Denso Paul Redding

Had mine done at Christmas as the first replacement was a dud - really hoping this one lasts me!!

To be honest you were very efficient and warned us all about this a couple of weeks ago - fingers crossed all round! Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

Unless I'm wrong you normally list the Denso alternator here:-

presumably it's not showing at present as you are out of stock.
I was thinking of pre-ordering if there is likely to be a shortage, as knowing my luck the alternator will fail at a time of poor supply.
I'm contemplating bring forward the 105k/7years belt change to this year & will change the alternator & oil pump at the same time, so having one in hand would be useful.

Nigel - Correct, I have removed the link as I don't want people ordering what will be a distress item, paying for it then putting pressure on me to magic one out of the box, I have plenty on order and I would think things will return to normal when LR sort their stock out, I think their issue with reconditioned units has just added to Denso Europes sales in the last month

Mixed emotions..
Happy mine packed up early January and a super service once more from Advanced.. 
Sad mine packed up early January.  Narpy Grill, tinted windows, Smooth leather wheel (TLO Group buy), ACM fitted (thanks TLO), Rear door loom and Row 2 & 3 audio switch upgrade, RRS 20" wheel change, 285 Cooper LTZ's Sat Nav Mod (until I get a Faultmate upgrade), Front & Rear lamp guards. 4x4 screen now switched on - Woody32, Follow me home reverse lights - woody32, Auto release EPB - Woody32. Off Road Navigation - Woody32. Remap + EGR's switched off. Full chassis clean and Waxoyl.

Update today -
Denso - Now quoting early March and we will only be allocated part of our order as there is such a high demand.
Lucas exchange units are available today, sadly same price as Denso new ones, but that's all I can get that I would put my name to today. I appreciate there are other sellers but I would like to stick to New or very well known reconditioners.
I have an alternative source for new units (Copies, not Denso but not Chinese either, we buy other units from this company and happy so far) - They have ordered me some for April and will be about £30 less than the Denso. Paul Redding

LR have withdrawn the exch unit from sale because of quality issues
advising only new replacement which surprise surprise is now out of stock  TLO has left the building.......
