desperate help plse with fitting drivers electric seat only

hi

can u fit just the drivers electric seat please

or do u have to also fit the passengers seat at the same time

been looking at the wiring diagram and not sure if the power goes into the passenger side seat first then across to the drivers side

is only because it's so cold of quickly removing my manual seat and putting in the drivers electric seat , can then do the passengers side later

thks again Thumbs Up

You can do them one at a time. They will work independently.

changed over drivers seat to my cloth interior

was thinking when i do the passengers side if i can remove the seat squab seat belt warning pad

as there all coming apart anyway

found the wiring centre block very clever, where u cant put a connector into the wrong bit , one that has ford on it

thks so much once again

On the multi connector, there should be a yellow, blue, purple, black etc...connectors. The black connector in the middle carries the power. 2 big wires, +|-, check that those wires are matching up on the seat and car connectors.

Yes, try the passenger seat loom. I did that when I installed 2012 RRS seats.

no good seems very different

right , thks for this by the way ,

this is what i've done

disconnected the seat air bag and seat belt tensioner out of the way

i've got a 12 volt feed going into the ford multi connector , which is permanent , even with the key out on the following wire

brown with a green stripe

black which i assume is the ground earth

on the other side of the connector there is nothing

so have a 12 volt supply at the seat but not going into the loom , as the black connector is not on the other side of the ford multiplug

thinking on the passenger loom there's a black connector , if i cut that off so can use it for the drivers side , where does that need to go to please

have got the memory ecu box fitted , not worried about the memory function or heating, just the motors

thks for this and so, so grateful Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

pics are of the connector that goes into the memory ecu box

would this be the connector that supplies the ecu box with power

wondering if i cut off the black connector from the passenger loom, put the black plug into the ford multiconnector

then cut it into the back of the plug that goes into the memory ecu

what do u think please or am i going down the wrong route

as i assume that i need to get 12 volts into the memory box or is it somewhere else that the loom needs to be powered

thks Thumbs Up

just trying to slowly work it out , but hands up am rather lost to say the least , lol

The wiring diagram can be found on page 206 of http://media.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/u...ing%29.pdf

Those look like the wires you need to provide power to, large browngreen and black wires.

There is another thread on the forum where they installed these seats and they joined the electronic live and earth to the larger live and earth wires on the seat loom and then connected them up to the multiplug live and earth wires. That thread should help you.
