Diagnostic device

Hi all

I have just bought a D3 2008 and it has a parking sensor fault (the red light on the button just flashes)

I was going to buy a GAP llD but as I have just bought the car don’t have the additional £450. Has anyone experience with the CarSoft V2.0 I know it won’t do as much but is it worth the £130 to see me through?

Thanks

Hi,
dont know about that unit but have you tried the even better value option,

having a listen to the sensors if you find one thats silent it could save another £120

(there are a few posts about checking the sensors if you have not tried it yet and sensors are about £10 each)

Thumbs Up

If you don’t ever get an error tone from the rear
It will be the rear park speaker fault

Find the speaker in the rear boot behind the left panel.

Measure it’s resistance if you can. Should be about 50 R
If not replace.

I picked up a Foxwell NT510 for a good price (some time ago) and it does all I need for fault finding on the D3 plus you can add up to five different brands to it.

have you tried listening to each sensor for it clicking Question

ignition on, in reverse, your ear Right up to each sensor and listen for it clicking, then remember to take it back out of reverse Whistle

I bought the Icarsoft LR 2.0 to do exactly what you wanted.

It identified the problem and I swapped over the faulty sensors and hey presto all working now.

None of the sensors were 'clicking' when putting my ear up to them, it was only when we started to replace some of the sensors did they start clicking.

As I've finished with the Icarsoft 2.0, I was going to put it up for sale for £100. Only used it for the above and to reset the service once I'd done that.

If you're interested let me know.

I carsoft will tell you exactly what sensors aren’t working.....it’s a really decent tool for the money.

I second that! Thumbs Up
I have a iCarsoft as well and it shows you what you need to know, quick, easy and cheap.
