Diagnostic screen - intercom???

Had a another brief look the other day trying to establish battery voltage at the hidden diagnostic screen: there's an option labelled "Intercom" (obviously "not fitted"), just wondered does anybody know what it is/would be? Question

Is this something that would be fitted as part of the Police spec?

Cheers.

Not sure how to get the voltage on the radio but i can get other things

Here's how:

- Radio off
- Turn radio on (using the left hand knob)
- within 5 seconds, press the right hand knob; HOLD this pressed fown for 10 seconds

You now get into menu 1; turning the knob takes you to the other 2 menus.

Menu 1: serial nmber and type number of the radio (and VIN, but this is blank)

Menu 2:
1 RDS 0n
2 REG Off
3 AF Off
4 TA VOL +4
5 MKT USA (can be made JPN, EC, OTHER)
6 PTY31 On

Press the number to change the option.

Menu 3:
LOUD On
AVC 5
TRANSIT
PERSON 1
KEY 1

Get into any of the menu pages listed above ... Then push the right hand knob inwards again for another 10 seconds

First screen you will see is hardware numbers etc..

Turn the knob and you will scroll through about 12 pages of stuff.

Be warned .. You can change stuff in these menus .. Including the 60 mins shutdown timer on the radio.

Some one I know was messing with bits .. And ended up with a broken head unit

Anyone figure out how to defeat the low power mode yet? Nothing jumps out on the pages.

Yes. A new battery. Or driving longer distances in case the battery is OK but not charged enough.

Radio diagnostic screens

For anyone who's interested, I took snapshots of mine (I think I have all the screens - 21 in total?) in the order they came up...

http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...creens.pdf

The original photos are in my gallery too.

I am a little confused by the garbage on photos 5 and 6 on the first page, are these some sort of control characters? (the car is UK spec/model so couldn't be another language I am guessing Confused )

Voltage indicator on photo 13 on the second page BTW Thumbs Up

Cheers

Oh, I hadn't anticipated that as a problem while running. I meant the max radio volume while the car is off. Twice a week in the summer we play beach volleyball and I have leave my car running to provide any tunes. This only further fuels the sarcastic remarks about my carbon foot print. So this winter I need to find a 1980's boom box w/rechargeable batteries or an "override to low power mode". Ill post the query in the tech section to see if it gets more response...

Just bringing this up again because I had a fiddle the other day again...

The car now says "IntercomFitted", and no software updates have been done to any of it's modules... Shocked (I have not employed a butler either Laughing )

Now I need to know what intercom is... Confused

Any more ideas?
