Re routed the gearbox breather pipe up to by the brake fluid reservoir to hopefully stop it spitting oil onto the engine and burning , and discovered the garage have left one of the under trays off after fitting a new crossover pipe at their cost after not refitting the brackets when they did the clutch

What I did on my D3 today
Fitted new front front shocks/air springs, when Bodsy flushed my gearbox recently he advised that the driver side front was leaking & I did notice that it kept going down at the front overnight. All I can say it is a fun job as my car has air conditioning front & rear there is absolutely no way to get at the inner bolts from the engine bay as the hoses are above the bolts, so all have to come off from in the wheelarches, small hands & a lot of different size sockets & spanner’s are needed. Took me & my nephew about 7 hours to do both sides, second side was much easier as had a better idea of how to actually attack it, reading all the threads on the forum about doing this job & videos on YouTube still does not quite prepare you for how awkward it is (not difficult), I have managed to retain all my knuckles in tact but my back aches a bit.
All now done & ride seems better, just checked & does not to appear to have gone down yet will see in the morning.
All I would say is if you are a half decent & confident mechanic & you need to do this job give it a go, by the way I got my shocks/air springs from LR parts in Liverpool cheapest I could find for Dunlop units, £260 for the pair including 2 day delivery.

Update
It’s now been five days since I did the job & suspension has stayed up, the ride seems a lot smoother, guess the old shocks must have been pretty shot as they appear to be the original factory fitted ones(Delphi) I still have some minor clunking over pot holes but I know that is the lower arm bushes which need doing that’s a job for the future, I checked the anti roll bar bushes while I was doing this job & they seem ok.
I can’t believe how little room there is to do this job on such a large vehicle, I reckon if you had about 1/2 inch more above the top mount in clearance you could do it much easier.
