so at the bottom of the engine bay there is a small diesel to water heat exchanger.
its at the back of engine on one side (near the starter) so check these pipes.

It sounds like you have a minor fuel leak so, the question for you is whether its on the hp or lp side. Unfortunately the only way to find out is to be persistent and keep mopping up and testing until you nail it down. If you need any pics of the rear of the engine, hpfp pump, belt and fuel lines etc, let me know and I will post them for you here.
You don't need to lift the body to remove the pump! It would make no economic sense unless you were intent on doing more maintenance items whilst the body is off. Even though it could then be done by a 10 yr old yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

My money would be on the high pressure feed to the injectors at the fuel pump if I was a betting man.
Can you clean it then touch the suspect areas with something that would show up a leak easily?

Further investigation. . .
As good as confirmed that it's the high pressure fuel pump.
The case didn't reset properly and was open at the bottom.
Not too noticeable while running but on shut down large amount of fuel flung from inside case.
Plan on ordering from LR direct seem to be most reasonable for Australia.
Will get a new belt too.
Do I need a new tensioner or anything else?
Or would it come with the belt?

Well done on getting to the bottom of it!
The dayco kit comes with the tensioner and bolt. Make sure you get the correct size belt. Difference between EU3 and EU4 either 82 or 85 teeth.

Sounds like you need an EU3 emissions pump, these should be the same even if the prices aren't

I heard something about this.
It does not match my car year 2005,
However I believe it had an engine change at some point.
Either way great info thanks very much.
As I cant find a pump at reasonable price, I have ordered a seal replacement kit.

Update,
Pump finally got delivered and it is the wrong one!
It seems that the engine is later model. Pump P/N AS2C20003282
So the pipes and belt are all wrong.
As it is the newer engine, I suspect the recall may have been applicable and not carried out.
Will order get another pump, pipes and belt and go again.
