Difficult brand for accessory dealer to know ??

Hi,

I had a funny case today when I went to buy Defa accessories to my Disco 3 from the local accessory dealer. It's the biggest pro store for all kind of accessories in mid size town (of 120 000 people).

I said loudly and clearly that I need it for Land Rover Discovery. Servicing guy was 50+ man, looking like profi.

He tool an accessory book and browsed it to Toyota, starting to go trough Land Cruisers. Then I commented that no, it's not Toyota, look for Land Rover.

OK. then he opened the book from Rover and started to go trough Rover cars..

I had to explain that it's not Rover either but the guy claimed that all Land Rovers have the same front as Rovers, meaning that Defa parts fit to those as well.. Very Happy Confused He explained that these Defa systems are equal to both Rover and Land Rovers.. Well, after 10 minutes friendly discussion, finally I got that extra 1.5 m cable that I was going to buy.

=> maybe Land Rover is not that well known brand in Finland if even the profi dealers mess it with Cruisers and Rovers..
