Dipped Headlight bulbs
Hi all,
Need some recommendations on what "brighter" halogen dipped headlight bulbs beople are using.
Normal bulbs lasting ok but as soon as I put some brighter ones in they only seem to last about 6 weeks (halfords)
Recommendations muchly appreciated.

You need to look at the B3 and Tc figures for the different bulbs.
B3 is the time span for 3% of the bulbs to fail. I.e. at this time the vast majority of the bulbs still work.
Tc is the time span for 67% of the bulbs to have failed. I.e. the vast majority of the bulbs have failed
The B3 and Tc times of brighter bulbs are typically 1/3 to 1/2 of that of standard bulbs.
Bulbs are tested at 13.2 volts and if your voltage at the headlights is greater then that then you will have shorter life span of the bulbs.
Physical shocks such as rough roads/potholes especially with lights on can also reduce bulb lifespan.

I couldn’t keep halogen bulbs in my D3, no matter what brand cheapest or dearest weeks or months is all they lasted. I first swapped to HDI and then swapped to xenons.
