Disco 3 17" wheels

Have

2pc Cooper Discoverer M+S, 245 65 R17
and
2pc Cooper Discoverer M+S 2, 235 55 R17

Can I mix them on my Discovery 3?

i'd say not ... big difference in radius.

245 x .65 = 159

235 x .55 = 129

3cm difference.

Australia

Specifically the 245 has a rolling diameter of 750.3mm and the 235 has a rolling diameter of 690.3mm, difference of 60mm (over 2") - this is too big a difference.

Also you should have the same width tyres on the car.

Sorry I made a mistake

should be

245 x .65 R17

235 x .65 R17

Does that make a difference

it will still give you a diameter difference of 13mm.

whilst it might have been ok in an emergency, I think you'll put undue stress on the transmission.
