Disco 3 - BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2

I fancy a set of BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tyres.

I currently have General Grabber AT 255/60 on 18" rims.

The closest match I can see for the KO2 tyres is 265/65 R18 or 265/60 R18.

Will these be OK?

Ta !

245 /70 /17 will do without modification. Paperworks needs extra effort. But no modification on the car, and fullsize spare will fit as well. Speedo is spot on to GPS without modification

Beware of the other sizes, some are only R rated for the speed, and the load rating is inferior on some. No use inrunning weak bfgs, methinks.

Mayerosch have some good overview of what is available:
http://www.offroadreifen.com/reifenmarken-...en-9-o.php

for 18 in, 255 / 70 and 265 / 60 seem to be the only options with appropriate speed and load ratings that might not require massive works on the chassis and fenders.

If you stick to the original coc sizes for the d3, Bfg have nothing to offer. Their marketing is just spot on!

I've got the 265/60R18 BFG AT KO2 on my D4. They're spot on. The 65's will also fit but some people say that you need to deflate the spare to get it in it's hole underneath (some say that it fits inflated). Your speedo will be slightly out with the 65's whereas the 60's are very close to original size. Thumbs Up

Good to hear these fit as well. Still have some 18in rims at hand.

Also, 255 / 60 is mentioned in the COC for D3, so no hassle with the "racing officials".
I just didnt want those wide tires, in order to save a little on fuel consumption... Also, 70 % height is more comfy.

For all: It might help, though, if we'd also mention our rim dimensions, and if we used spacers.

In my case:
245 / 70 / 17 on Delta 4x4 WP 8J x 17 / ET 40 (Outset 40mm off center)

(hope you get the outset thing, how do i say it proper in english?)

cheers

Thomas

You also have the NEW General Grabber AT3 available in 265/60x18 and 265/65x18 available.

Andy, we're talking BFG here. We know that the General has got his marketing figured as opposed to b.f.

Anyhow, can i just say, after approx 8000 km of heavy towing, my BFGs seem not to be bothered. They're just starting to get used to the Car, almost no wear as of now. Had a couple of nasty situations on the motorway calling for emergency break - no problem at all. Heavy rain: the tires were awesome. Light terrain / muddy ruts and grass moving the trailer I didn't need to worry. A tad bit louder than the old street tires i had, but still adequate acoustics due to the D3 sound insulation. Happy camper here. Given they cost approx. the same as good road tires...

Yep, I know you are talking BFG, just letting others know there are other options. Thumbs Up

We took BFG off one of my tow vehicles as the wet weather stopping performance was a bit interesting especially with a fully loaded 18 foot tri-axle trailer, put it on General AT3 and it feels better. Thumbs Up
