Very nice job, would also be interested to know price as mine is in a right state!

May as well wait a bit as more off-roading coming up though. I guess there are only so many times you can do this before all the paint is removed though Shocked

Are you sitting down ?

£250

If you can feel the scratch with your finger nail then no it cant be polished out .

However it can be filled with touch up paint , sanded down then polished ...so looks good as new

You are correct ...they take the paint depth readings before you start , so they know how much can safely be removed.
I have a few deeper scratches that proberly could have come out , but as the guy knows im likely to inflict more damage in time , he didn't go to deep .This way they can be removed later.

I have decided that i will not bother with any more polishing until its time to sell !!!

One , its not cheap , and two ...like my missus keeps telling me...its a work vehicle ..its gonna get scratches . Sad

Athought the drive home today was great ....people having a good old look at my shiney beast Thumbs Up

And all thought that might sound expensive ...it took 2 guys just over 9 hrs of hard work ....plus there materials

Rather them than me ....

Wot does Ken the paint expert make of this.....
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Their post made good reading too - wouldn't have the patience to do that.

What do they use to measure the paint depth? Some form of light instrument?

...thought your military background would have precluded assumptions
however the expert opinion of how to recondition paint of value as have to sort out an imported car with lived in paint...

Seems they forgot that the tailgate is aluminium - hence the 'low' reading... Most systems work by refraction although some use electro-spectrographic methods
