You've bought the car enjoy it.

You can always vent a spleen on here if there is a problem, besides your next service may well be the 105k/7yr service that's always a good one Whistle

They may not be the most reliable cars in the world but they make up for it in what you can do with them:

Don't be too scared by the forum, remember that no-one ever comes on here to say "I had a lovely day today and nothing bad happened to my Discovery 3" (except BigDave!)

Most people come on here because they have some problem, but thanks to this forum the problems can be resolved quite quickly.

Any car can be a dog and some can make you rethink the stereotype. My missus had an Alfa for 3 or 4 years and it never missed a beat, whereas I had a Saab and struggled to keep it on the road!

Just enjoy your D3 and treat any issues as mini-adventures! Smile

The Disco is a vehicle that most people love to hate, true its not the most reliable vehicle out there but when you way up the technology the vehicle has i dont really think its that bad. There isnt a manafacture out there that doesnt suffer from some issue or another...if you were to go out and buy yourself a Mitsubishi whatever it is eventually someone out there on the internet would convince you that they were a dreadfull car ( althought they are ) you pays your money and takes your chances. Stop googling...its the sign of anxiety Thumbs Up

I googled a symtom on google once and i had worked out i had around 3 weeks left to live.......i only had a lump on my Censored

I run an 05 manual with no warranty juts a good local specialist. My only gripe has been the EPB and thats all sorted now. Otherwise its reliable, smooth and ace. Thumbs Up

The forum any forum is like a distillation of problems - not a good place to get a genuine feel for reliability of the D3. many many people drive them with 1000s of miles of trouble free motoring.

Agree with hughes_jh. Due to the site being so good, its easy to find soltutions to the simplest of things and also the not so simplest of things, as DSL knows all about.... Whistle

Every car I have had has had things that the dealer had to fix, to name a few;
2003 A4 Quattro with central locking problems + all windows lowering after leaving the car parked (not good when it was raining! + turbo problems
2005 BMW 525d central locking problems + cracked exhaust manifold + gearbox problems

and as JF Lux says, for a 7 year car you have to expect some problems.

MY06 has been good to me so far. Problems with FBH is standard, but then again this isn't LR's it's Webasto's.... Wink

Good luck with yours and enjoy! Thumbs Up
