Disco First Service & Oil

My Disco 3 is a year old now and has just been in for its first service today.

I have been charged for 8 litres of Shell Helix Semi Synthetic, and also 1 litre of Shell Helix Ultra.

Quite why 2 oils have been used is beyond me.

But what bothers me is that the handbook states that only 5.45 litres is required for an oil refill and filter change.

So why the fek have I been billed for 9 litres?

Any idea?

Thx.

We use 6 on a service at work. The separate 1 litre wasn't for a 1 litre top up bottle was it? We used to supply one with every service, but stopped to reduce the service costs.

Well i didnt get supplied a top up bottle, and also didnt ask for one.

The fekkers also charged me £5.00 to top up my screen wash !!! FFS. I carry a gallon with me (diluted 50/50) in the car as its such a consumable at this time of year.

By my calcs I am owed a £50 refund (including the screenwash I didnt ask for).

Screenwash is added as standard at all manufactures main dealers as far as I know. Unless the vehicle is a lease car.

Not in my Merc Sprinter Motorhome when it goes to Merc for a service.

Besides, if they are to fill up tanks of fluid, then why stop at screen wash? Surely they should have topped the Diesel up too !!

What Censored me off is that I was quoted a fixed price for a service, which has overcharged me on the oil (its not physically possible to get 9 litres in), and they have stung me for extras (screen wash) without asking !

They can fek off.

Firstly.... if you are quoted a fixed price then there should be no extras unless agreed. Secondly, does the il include the gear box? as i am pretty sure it uses the same oil.

Get back to the dealer and ask some questions!
