Paulj1,
I am already on the case of getting a deal, but I agree the chances of a TA double blowout are slim, which is one the main reason I went for the TA in the first place and it may not be worth the expence of fitting the Tryon bands which are not cheap from what I can see.
I didn't realise you needed special tools to remove the tyre, but that shouldn't be a major issue if you have a spare wheel.
Tryon are based at Loughborough and I do have a few contacts up there who might know them and be able to introduce me to someone there.
I accept your mission, and will post something here if I can get the forum members a cracking group deal if anyone is interested.

I used to tow my 24ft Abbey with a S type Jag.Reversing with the D3 is a lot easier if you select low gear. This makes the out fit move slower and give more time to correct when ineveitably you turn the steering wheel in the wrong direction.Watch the experts, artic drivers, nice and slow and if the unit is not going where you want it to go pull forward and try agin.As suggested in an earlier reply practice make perfect.Find a nice open space at the next site you visit. Not that I am any good at reversing my self.
Peter Just when I thought I knew all lifes answers they went and changed the bloody questions
I am going to fit the Tyron adapters to the wheels, it's not cheap but what is.
On my next outing I am going to leave a bit earlier and find a large empty space to try and crack the reversing technique.
Once again thanks to all.

I never managed to reverse a SA , but the TA is getting realy easy doing it nearly every w/e , putting it away at the storage compound .
as every no says take it slowly
BTW when reversing has anyone triad useing a mobile to your partner , who is guiding you back ,
instead of her Sceaming at you to stop Practice safe eating - always use condiments.
2 Too many seats now
No trouble so far
tow pack, tasmods sills
IT goes without saying that you should never have more children than you have car windows

An tip for reversing, used for many years. Once you've stopped, ready to reverse, take both hands off the wheel, and just put one hand (left or right, dependant on which handed you are) back on the wheel AT THE BOTTOM of the steering wheel. now start backing up, and if you want the van to go right, move your hand right (yep, your turning the wheel left). Works every time. My TA hasnt got a mover, as the most powerful mover I've got is the D3.
AlVolvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD
T/A tintnet with a D3 and a mover "just in case, m'lord" !!!!!
Then again it's a hell of a lot easier reversing the TA than my trials M/c trailer - can't see the ruddy thing when the bikes aren't on it until its gone too far to the left or the right FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

Another quick tip - to keep straight while reversing, keep an eye on the caravan in your wing mirrors. If you start to see more 'van in one mirror than the other, turn the steering wheel toward that mirror slightly to straighten up again i.e more caravan in right hand mirror? turn steering wheel to the right to correct. Don't overdo it though, especially with a SA van as they respond much more quickly to any steering input. Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
