Nice touch that it has the spare wheel winch link - something I'd do if I had my time again (mine were out of my old D2 so didn't build this in)D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

I've just build a much simpler version of this for my disco, this is now the 2nd one I've put together. I simply cut a hole out of the bottom...

Like the idea you’ve done there, got one of these winch adaptors that I’ve got to get round fitting and seeing how you’ve done urs have u just fitted a short extension bar please between the back seats

Yup, short extension bar that sits a few mms above the bottom of the box.

Hi mate
It sits under the 3rd row seats and allows u to lower the spare wheel , got it off here from one of the members as there silly money new
Found some other pics , plus I got one of the updated spare wheel winches , has the extra sleeving around the wire
Still looking for a second hand 17 inch RLD spare wheel cover , all the ones that have come up are for much larger wheels
Will have a look to see if I have an old extension bar to fit on the end of the winch

That looks like a top idea, would allow me to access the spare wheel when the cats are in the back (without having to remove the tailgate guard)... will put up a wanted post 😁 or start figuring out a way to do it with an extension bar and socket and leave them in place as per Iggy.. will take some measurements while the guards are out at the mo...I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!
