If you reckon that the TDV6 needs more power, just go for a drive in a Discovery Series II TD5 or even the 4.0 litre Rover V8 petrol engine. Then when you jump back into the Disco 3, you'll find that it's actually got heaps of power!
I also highly recommend the JE remap. It, or more precisely, the extra 'fun factor' it gives, has resulted in a slight reduction in typical mpgs, but frankly, I don't care. I can overtake with ease on the short sections of straight that present themselves on the commute to work, and if I don't like the person behind me, an extra dab of the accellerator and a poor gear choice will leave them lost in a cloud of dark smoke.
Judge for yourselves how the mpgs have changed. I got it done in the middle of August, the chart shows 6000 miles before and 6000 miles after the tune.

(The long straight line on the right is just me not knowing how to work excel)
I have heard that the TC remap does give a better improvement to efficiency, but I doubt that it would be much different for me given my windy roads commute.

Just a thank you for all your responses. I have today spoken to turbo Chip who seem keen to help and offer a discount to forum members. I think this is the way to go. I will give it a couple of weeks upon delivery to be sure I need it and will appreciate the extra power more as a result. I am about to ask another series of questions entitled 'What to buy'....your comments would be appreciated. Thanks again all.Serial Depreciation Victim

My 2005 TDV6 is back at the LR Dealership that I purchased it from. This is the fourth time they have had the vehicle to cure the power lag issue. They continue to look for software upgrades to resolve the problem and state that it runs exactly as it should do. This is despite my experience of several other TDV6 Autos that I have driven extensively. To me the lack of power is very noticeable, to the dealership I am an awkward customer.
They are keeping the vehicle overnight and will no doubt call me in the morning to state that there is nothing they can find and are returning the vehicle.
I do not expect the dealership to resolve this issue but I would love to be proved wrong.

I went for JE and a ITG filter performance is just dandy now.
